Work together with network engineering, data center design, and connectivity teams to deliver comprehensive infrastructure design packages and solutions.
Act as a subject matter expert for physical infrastructure and the design and deployment of building management systems and controls networks in data centers.
Collaborate closely with our software teams to ensure accurate representation of network infrastructure in our Fiber Infrastructure Management tool.
Perform logical network bootstrapping to align our internal tools with network hardware and circuits.
Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and vendors.
Lead strategic initiatives to enhance efficiency, innovation, and standardization in our data centers through automation.
Conduct site visits and work alongside construction teams and contractors to ensure compliance with Meta's cabling standards.
Influence design iterations of data centers and networks for seamless integration of new infrastructure and scalability.
Maintain comprehensive technical references, processes, and training documentation.
Develop automations and tools to improve consistency and efficiency in network design, deployment, and operations.
Willingness to travel 25% to 40% based on project requirements.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
7+ years of experience in designing and deploying large-scale data center network infrastructure.
Strong knowledge of structured cabling and fiber optic infrastructure, including best practices and industry standards.
Understanding of data center design, construction, and startup/commissioning processes.
Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and delivering large-scale data center projects.
Track record of problem-solving, strategic direction setting, and tactical execution.
Familiarity with internet networking technologies (TCP/IP, routing, switching) and optical transport technologies.
Knowledge of enterprise and provider-level network hardware platforms (IP + Optical).
Experience in organization, multitasking, prioritization, and effective communication.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience collaborating with on-site construction teams and managing contractor/vendor relationships.
Familiarity with data center facilities management using building management and automation systems.
In-depth experience with inside/outside plant cable design and dark fiber builds.
Experience working in a global team within a matrixed environment with minimal supervision.
Relevant data center design or telecommunications certifications.
2+ years of programming experience in languages such as Python, C++, or Go.
Compensation: $135,000/year to $191,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits. Industry:
