Systems Administrator experienced with High-Performance Computing tools .
This is a permanent direct hire opportunity. The schedule is on-site 5 days a week in Port Jefferson, NY
Compensation is competitive including base + bonus and comprehensive benefits
Responsibilities
Design, deploy, support, and troubleshoot Linux server and desktop infrastructure; document IT infrastructure, policies, and procedures; and perform general user support Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
Extensive experience designing, deploying, and supporting Linux servers and desktops Experience with HPC tools like Slurm, LSF, PBS, or something similar Thorough understanding of systems and network protocols (DNS, TCP/IP, SMTP, HTTP/HTTPS) and UNIX/Linux system internals (kernel, drivers, file systems, virtual memory) Excellent troubleshooting and creative problem-solving abilities Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field Plus
Experience deploying and supporting open source and proprietary infrastructure services (DNS, DHCP, LDAP, Radius, NFS, Kerberos, OpenSSL), integrating them into the existing infrastructure, and debugging and patching them Experience implementing, operating, and supporting open source tools for system and security monitoring and management on UNIX/Linux platforms Knowledge of scripting to automate tasks
Anticipated base 250-300k +/-, + significant bonus potential
