Primary Purpose
Provide administration, security, and lifecycle management of the district's enterprise systems, cloud platforms, device management infrastructure, and identity services in a primarily Apple and Google educational environment. This position is responsible for the operational integrity, security, and availability of systems supporting instruction, district operations, student safety, and large-scale student device programs.
Qualifications
Education / Certification
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field OR Equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible systems administration experience
Experience
Five (5) or more years of progressively responsible systems administration experience, preferably in a K-12 educational or enterprise environment supporting large user populations and managed device fleets
Special Knowledge and Skills Demonstrated experience administering
Google Workspace for Education , including user accounts, organizational units, security settings, and domain-level policies Experience managing
Apple School Manager , including device enrollment, app licensing, and integration with MDM platforms Experience administering an
Apple MDM solution
(Mosyle preferred), including device configuration, application deployment, security enforcement, and profile management Strong understanding of
identity and access management , account lifecycle automation, and role-based access controls Experience supporting and maintaining
large-scale student and staff device deployments , including Chromebooks and Apple devices Familiarity with
student monitoring and web filtering platforms
such as GoGuardian Familiarity with
student safety, visitor management, and emergency response systems
such as Raptor Understanding of
information security best practices , FERPA, student data privacy, and district policy compliance Ability to investigate account misuse, policy violations, and technology-related discipline incidents Ability to troubleshoot complex system, account, and device issues across multiple platforms Ability to work effectively in a
fast-paced educational environment
with competing priorities and seasonal workload peaks Strong documentation, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in
high-visibility and time-sensitive situations Major Responsibilities and Duties
Systems and Identity Administration
Create, maintain, and manage student and staff user accounts within
Google Workspace for Education
and related district systems Perform account provisioning, password resets, access changes, suspensions, and deprovisioning throughout the school year Organize and maintain user accounts in preparation for each new school year Maintain domain-level security settings and investigate account- or access-related incidents Support compliance with district security policies, student handbooks, staff handbooks, and data privacy requirements Assist administration with investigations involving technology usage, account access, or policy violations Device Management and Deployment
Administer the district's
Mobile Device Management (MDM)
platform Manage applications, printers, device profiles, restrictions, and security configurations for all district-owned Apple devices Maintain and manage
Apple School Manager , including:
Volume Purchase Program (VPP) licensing Device Enrollment Program (DEP) / automated device enrollment Integration and synchronization with Mosyle
Organize, maintain, and repair
student devices , including Chromebooks and Apple devices Supervise and support the
deployment, collection, and inventory tracking
of the district's student device fleet Prepare, service, and stage student and staff devices during summer and intersession refresh cycles Maintain accurate device inventories, asset records, and deployment documentation Incorporate
student device repairs
into daily operational activities Student Monitoring and Safety Systems
Administer the district's
student monitoring software
(GoGuardian) Install and maintain monitoring extensions and device plugins Develop, maintain, and enforce approved
white-list and black-list filtering policies Investigate and report inappropriate, unsafe, or prohibited student activity Administer district
safety and visitor management systems
(Raptor), including:
User account creation and maintenance Safety drill configuration and maintenance Troubleshooting login and access issues
Assist campuses and staff with system access, reporting, and troubleshooting related to safety platforms Operational Support and Coordination
Provide advanced technical support and
escalation assistance
to technology support staff Collaborate closely with network administrators, technicians, and campus personnel to resolve system-level issues Assist with testing, deployment, evaluation, and documentation of new systems and services Maintain clear and accurate technical documentation, procedures, and system records Coordinate with vendors and service providers, including opening and managing support tickets as needed Support continuity of instructional and operational technology during critical periods Other Responsibilities
Assist the Director of Information Technology as required Promote teamwork and collaboration within the Technology Department Maintain confidentiality of sensitive student and staff information Comply with all federal and state laws, State Board of Education rules, and local board policies Follow all district and campus routines and regulations Provide support outside school/production hours to the ongoing mission of safety and security
Supervisory Responsibilities
None directly; may provide functional guidance to technicians, interns, or student workers as assigned
