Introduction

Brunel is currently supporting a major energy infrastructure project and is seeking an experienced Senior Contracts Manager to join the project team based in Calgary, Alberta.

This role will play a key part in supporting the FEED phase of a large‑scale capital project, working closely with a world‑class FEED contractor and integrated Supply Chain and Project Management teams. The successful candidate will bring strong commercial leadership, contract management expertise, and a demonstrated commitment to HSSE excellence.

A passion for safety and the ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced, mega‑project environment are essential to success in this role.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with the FEED Contractor to support successful outcomes for all parties.
• Manage supporting project contracts to ensure alignment and delivery in conjunction with the FEED Contract.
• Contribute as a key team member in the EPCM RFP process.
• Provide strong HSSE leadership, demonstrating commitment to achieving top‑quartile safety performance and promoting a safety‑first culture.
• Deliver effective contract management, ensuring contractual compliance, performance delivery, transparency, and open communication.
• Interface seamlessly with Supply Chain, Project Management, Construction, and other internal teams to support integrated project delivery.
• Support the delivery of FEED activities and FEED subcontractors, ensuring contractual obligations are met
• Represent the FEED contract scope with external stakeholders, demonstrating strong commercial and contractual knowledge.

Qualifications

• Experienced professional with a strong background in contracting roles on major capital projects.
• Strong preference for candidates with:
• Excellent relationship-building skills
• Proven leadership in managing contractors
• Experience working on major Canadian projects
• Demonstrated knowledge and capability across the following areas:
• Minimum 10 years of Contracting and Procurement experience (less experience may be considered with compensation alignment)
• Application of contracting and procurement processes and tools
• Knowledge of materials management and logistics within a project environment
• Project contract management and governance
• Strong commercial acumen, demonstrated through negotiations and delivery of significant contract value or savings
• Ability to manage internal and external stakeholders effectively
• Clear, effective communication skills at all levels of management
• Experience with pipeline facilities construction and contracting is an asset
• Creative, solutions-oriented thinker with a strong delivery mindset
• Applied knowledge of local content development
• Experience working in mega project environments
• Understanding of strategic, technical, legal, financial, taxation, and commercial considerations, with the ability to manage complexity and uncertainty
• CP professional competencies at Skill level or above
• Degree in Business, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or equivalent professional experience
