Are you a commercial property management professional looking to take the next step in your career? Our client is seeking an Assistant Property Manager to oversee a diverse commercial real estate portfolio consisting of approximately 550,000 square feet over 25 buildings . This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive, detail-oriented professional who values strong tenant relationships, operational excellence, and disciplined portfolio management.
Your New Role
Reporting to the senior property manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of a commercial portfolio, ensuring strong asset performance and tenant satisfaction. You will provide direction to the operations team, coordinate maintenance and service contracts, maintain certificates of insurance for tenants and vendors and ensure tenant requests are addressed promptly and professionally. The role includes managing tenant communications, resolving concerns, and supporting leasing activities, including the drafting of lease documentation.
In addition, you will be responsible for general administrative support, updating and maintaining the property records and capital project administration. You will play a key role in internal and external communication to ensure that all property management obligations are met. This hands-on role will contribute directly to operational efficiency.
Due to the nature of the role, possessing a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation will be highly regarded.
Keys to Success
The ideal candidate brings a minimum of two years of commercial property management experience with strong working knowledge of property operations and administration, leasing and a strong customer-service oriented approach to tenant relations. Post-secondary education in business management, real estate, or a related discipline is preferred. Strong administrative skills are essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Familiarity with property management software such as Yardi and MRI Angus is highly valuable. Strong written and verbal communication skills, problem-solving abilities and a proactive, team-oriented mindset are key to success in this role.
