Job Title: Site Superintendent
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Location: Stoney Creek, ON (Covering GTA, Hamilton, Niagara & surrounding areas – strong travel component required)
Compensation: $59.55 – $66.70 per hour
Reporting To: Field Service Manager
Primary Objective
Under general supervision, the Site Superintendent is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of assigned projects, ensuring alignment with company strategy, commitments, and goals.
The successful candidate will oversee 1–3 active projects at a time, managing site teams ranging from 6–19 personnel while ensuring quality, safety, schedule, and contractual compliance are consistently met.
Duties & Responsibilities
The Site Superintendent will be responsible for managing projects from inception to close-out, including:
Health & Safety Leadership
- Prioritize Health and Safety at all times in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Ontario Regulations 213/91, and COR requirements.
- Lead all site health and safety initiatives including job site inspections, safety talks, PPE enforcement, Health & Safety Plans, FLRA, site orientations, MLITSD inspections, and accident/incident protocols.
- Ensure subcontractors understand and comply with all company-wide safety policies and procedures.
Project & Site Management
- Oversee the entire construction process and ensure successful project completion.
- Ensure all projects are delivered in accordance with contract requirements and specifications.
- Plan, execute, and coordinate work plans for mechanical division projects and revise as needed.
- Organize and supervise site staff, trades, and subcontractors to ensure performance expectations are met.
- Monitor progress continuously and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
- Ensure project milestones and deadlines are achieved.
- Manage worker hours and site productivity.
- Ensure testing, start-up, and field-level reports are completed and submitted.
- Ensure all necessary permits and licenses are secured.
- Maintain quality control of work and materials.
Technical & Compliance Oversight
- Review construction plans to ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances (plumbing, mechanical, electrical, HVAC).
- Oversee project compliance with specifications, local codes, and proper installation techniques.
- Ensure subcontractors understand scope, expectations, and deliverables prior to project start.
- Demonstrate strong working knowledge of RFIs, RFQs, change orders, and contract administration.

Skills & Qualifications
Mandatory Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years of construction experience in a similar Superintendent role (commercial/industrial experience required).
- 313A Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic License.
- Gas Fitter 1 (G1) License.
- Valid Ontario G Driver’s License.
- Strong knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions related to welding, steam, gas, and mechanical systems.
- Proven history of successfully completed projects.
Strong Assets
- Mechanical Engineering Degree, P.Eng., or MBA.
- Project management experience in a mechanical/construction environment (contracts, costing, planning, scheduling).
- Additional trade background (Steamfitter, Welder, Plumber).
- Experience with COR.
- Familiarity with Procore construction management software.
- Strong understanding of union agreements and applicable collective agreements.
- Working knowledge of standard contract forms.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Project, Word).
Working Conditions
- Frequent travel to construction sites across GTA, Hamilton, Niagara, and surrounding regions.
- Protective clothing and PPE required during site visits.
- Ability to work long hours and perform under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Team-oriented environment requiring independent initiative and leadership.
