I.T. Senior Project Manager

Job Description

The City of Carmel is seeking an experienced IT Senior Project Manager to lead medium to large-scale technology initiatives that modernize and support city operations. This role will manage the full lifecycle of projects including infrastructure upgrades, ERP and business system implementations, cybersecurity initiatives, and cloud migrations. Strong knowledge and experience of project management and stakeholder engagement is required.

• Lead planning, execution, monitoring, and closure of IT projects

• Develop project plans, schedules, budgets, and risk strategies

• Coordinate cross-functional teams, vendors, and city stakeholders

• Manage dependencies, critical paths, and issue resolution

• Present updates to leadership and governing bodies

• Apply Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies

• Ensure compliance with City policies and procurement requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field

• 5+ years of progressively responsible IT project management experience

• Experience leading complex infrastructure, ERP, enterprise systems, or cloud projects

• Proficiency with tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or Asana

• Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills

• PMP or Agile/Scrum certification preferred

• Valid Indiana driver’s license
