Project Manager
Position Summary / Core Responsibilities
- Develops project plans and recommendations in support of departmental and company objectives; leads implementation and tracks and reports project status.
- Manages, prioritizes, and categorizes projects in alignment with corporate strategy, with a strong focus on provider network operations, initiatives, and performance outcomes .
- Leverages provider network experience to support contracting, onboarding, credentialing, access, and network optimization initiatives.
- Ascertains, categorizes, and manages projects in alignment with corporate priorities.
- Negotiates for resources to staff projects effectively, ensuring appropriate skill sets are aligned to project needs.
- Delegates work as required and ensures a high-quality end product through close customer contact; assesses customer and client satisfaction through direct feedback and evaluation.
- Coordinates the development and implementation of policies and procedures, including compliance measurements; monitors and controls project effectiveness and updates project plans as needed.
- Ensures compliance with applicable audit and regulatory requirements.
- Represents the company in meetings with external parties, including consultants, vendors, and others; may include service delivery management of vendors.
- Assists with the analysis and development of business processes to ensure quality, cost effectiveness, timeliness of customer service, and compliance with regulatory requirements and mandates.
- Develops escalation processes to appropriately route issues and concerns.
- Evaluates project risks, develops contingency plans, and responds to changes in risk throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develops effective business process improvement initiatives and communication plans.
- Performs analytical functions and coaches others in analytical, technical, and related disciplines.
- Proposes multiple solutions to business issues using appropriate analytical tools (e.g., cost/benefit analysis, process flow mapping).
- Documents and presents project management results through criteria development, issue analysis papers, and reports; ensures projects meet established objectives, including financial goals where applicable.
- Develops evaluation plans to assess project performance against stated goals.
- Develops and tracks budgets, operating plans, and financial cost forecasts to support project objectives.
- Provides leadership to indirect reports, as applicable, through clear expectations, ongoing feedback, coaching, mentoring, and training.
Hiring Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree (as required)
- 5+ years of project/program management experience, including provider network experience in the healthcare or insurance industry.
- In lieu of a degree, 7 years of relevant experience , including provider network operations
