Construction Estimator / Project Manager

Job Description

• Outsource, market, and network with other contractors to acquire bid opportunities.
• Review and analyze construction plans and specifications.
• Perform precise quantity take-offs.
• Possess a solid understanding of construction labor and costs.
• Communicate effectively with various material/equipment vendors.
• Review and evaluate project plans and specifications, bid documents, and other relevant project documents to identify what is needed for a project and to create a accurate, competitive, profitable bid proposals.
• Work with Project Managers and Superintendents to check bids for completeness and compliance with the construction plans and specifications.
• Anticipate potential problems and devise solutions proactively.
• Prepare “RFI” questions.
• Prepare and present budgets and reports for projects.
• Assist with project scheduling & management.
• Develop and implement the project game plan, revising as necessary to accommodate changing needs and requirements with Senior PM.
• Identify necessary resources and assign individual responsibilities accordingly
• Compile submittal packages for projects.
• Schedule meetings with clients, site managers, and staff.
• Provide assistance in project pursuits and interviews as required. Attend pre-construction site visits.
• Monitor construction & safety processes.
• Schedules and assists on meetings to operations team upon award of a project.
• Ensures project documents are complete, current, and organized correctly.
• Keep company management, project management, clients, general contractors, and all other stakeholders informed of bid progress.
• Deal with subcontractor bid acquisition for other trades when doing full project managements as a GC.
