Job Title: Operations Manager – Electrical Construction

Pay Range: $150,000–$250,000 annually (base salary, DOE)
Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Summary

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day and strategic operations of the electrical construction division. This role ensures profitable project execution, operational efficiency, quality control, and strong client relationships while managing and developing project management and field leadership teams. Prior experience working for an electrical contractor is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage operational performance across multiple electrical construction projects
• Drive division profitability through effective planning, execution, and resource management
• Lead, mentor, and develop project managers, superintendents, and operational staff
• Support continuous improvement initiatives, including lessons learned and process optimization
• Participate in hiring, work assignments, promotions, and performance evaluations
• Review and oversee contractual requirements, schedules, and budgets for all projects
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and company policies
• Develop and manage operational plans, staffing strategies, and capacity planning
• Adjust operational priorities based on customer needs, labor availability, and jobsite conditions
• Maintain strong client relationships and serve as an escalation point for project-related issues
• Oversee coordination with subcontractors and third-party construction firms
• Lead operational reviews with emphasis on financial forecasting, cost control, and risk mitigation
• Proactively communicate operational challenges, risks, and successes to executive leadership
• Coordinate with accounting on billing, invoicing, cost tracking, and change order management
• Work with legal counsel as needed to support contract negotiations and dispute resolution
• Balance internal and external resources to meet project and business objectives

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience with an electrical contractor , including senior-level operational or project leadership
• Strong understanding of electrical construction operations, workflows, and best practices
• Solid knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals and power systems
• Field experience coordinating with construction management and jobsite leadership
• Extensive experience with scheduling, estimating, bids, take-offs, change orders, and contracts
• Proven ability to lead teams, drive accountability, and improve operational performance
• Strong client-facing and relationship-building skills
• Exceptional analytical, organizational, and leadership abilities
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred
• Journeyman or Master Electrician license is a plus

Compensation & Benefits

The base salary range for this position is $150,000–$250,000, depending on experience, location, and business needs. The role may also be eligible for bonus incentives, vehicle allowance, and a comprehensive benefits package, which may include:
