The Quality and Continuous Improvement Partner (QCIP) supports the delivery and operation of North’s integrated management system and continuous improvement activities across sectors and group functions. Reporting to the Head of Operational Assurance, this role focuses on the day‑to‑day administration, assurance, auditing, and improvement of quality, compliance, and business continuity arrangements. The QCIP works closely with operational teams, project teams, suppliers, and support functions to ensure processes are developed, followed, evidence is maintained, non‑conformities are addressed, and improvement opportunities are identified and progressed. The role plays a key part in embedding a positive quality culture across the organisation. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Management Systems and Performance * Support the maintenance and operation of the integrated management system in line with ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, 27001, and 22301 requirements. * Assist with the creation, update, and control of policies, procedures, work instructions, templates, and forms to our Knowledge Library. * Administer elements of North’s Operational Assurance System (SafetyCulture), including inspections, checklists, and corrective action tracking. * Ensure documentation and records are managed in accordance with document control procedures. Audit and Compliance * Support the delivery of the internal audit programme through audit preparation, evidence collection, and follow‑up actions. * Carry out process inspections and audits.. * Record non‑conformities, observations, and improvement opportunities, and track corrective actions to closure. * Assist with the preparation of evidence packs for external audits, certifications, and accreditations. Change Management * Assist with assessing the impact of change on processes, safety, quality, and compliance. * Support communication of approved changes and verify implementation through inspections or checks. * Help monitor whether changes are sustained and effective. Engineering & Project Quality * Support the preparation and maintenance of Project Quality Plans (PQP) where required. * Assist Project Managers and Operational Teams with quality checks, inspections, and non‑conformance management. * Support root cause analysis and corrective action implementation. Supplier Quality * Assist with supplier quality activities, including inspections, audits, and issue tracking. * Support investigations into supplier quality or technical safety issues. * Help communicate North’s quality and compliance expectations to suppliers. Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery (BCDR) * Support the maintenance of business continuity and disruption risk and impact assessments. * Assist with the upkeep of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plans. * Support BCDR testing and exercising activities and capture lessons learned. * Lead on ISO 22301 audits with the Head of Operational Assurance. Training and Education: * Support delivery of quality, business continuity, and continuous improvement awareness sessions. * Promote good practice and quality awareness across teams. Continuous Improvement * Support the Opportunity Management process by logging, tracking, and reporting improvement opportunities. * Assist with structured problem‑solving activities (e.g. PPS / 8D) under guidance. * Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and lead improvement projects – end to end process implementation. EHS collaboration * Work with EHS colleagues to support alignment between the Integrated Management System and EHS requirements. * Assist with inspections, documentation, and compliance activities where required. Qualifications Qualification or equivalent experience in Quality, Business Improvement or a related discipline. Experience in a quality, compliance, assurance, and continuous improvement role within an operational or project‑based environment. Can do attitude, who can take people of all levels with them on the journey. Working knowledge of ISO Integrated Management system standards Understanding of internal auditing, inspections, and corrective action management. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage documentation and evidence. Good communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues at all levels and lead implementation projects for processes and CI. Analytical mindset with a practical approach to problem‑solving. Familiarity with quality management or assurance software (e.g. SafetyCulture) desirable. Willingness to travel to sites within the UK as required. Competent in the use of Microsoft suite for Excel, PowerPoint, Word, CoPilot etc. WORKING PATTERN Primarily office‑based with flexibility to travel to North sites, audits, and customer meetings; occasional out‑of‑hours work during audits or accreditation windows.
