An Order Picker position is available in our Washington, D.C. facility. As an Order Picker, you will be responsible for accurately selecting items from warehouse shelves to fulfill customer orders. This role requires attention to detail, efficiency, and a strong understanding of inventory management principles. You will work closely with the shipping department to ensure orders are picked correctly and prepared for dispatch. A commitment to safety and accuracy is paramount in this logistics-focused role. Your precision in picking directly impacts customer satisfaction and the overall efficiency of our distribution process.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick items from warehouse inventory based on order sheets or scanner systems.
- Verify picked items against order specifications to ensure accuracy.
- Stage picked items in designated areas for packing and shipping.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Operate picking equipment safely and efficiently.
- Adhere to all company safety policies, including the correct use of PPE.
- Report any discrepancies or issues with inventory to supervisors.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts as needed.
- Follow safe lifting techniques and material handling procedures.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of the logistics department.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience as an Order Picker or in a similar warehouse role is beneficial. Ability to read and interpret order documents accurately. Must be able to perform tasks requiring moderate physical exertion, including lifting up to 40 lbs. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Reliability and punctuality are essential.
