Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Durham, North Carolina. As a Shipping Clerk, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and on time. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and quality. You will be responsible for preparing shipping documents, verifying order accuracy, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining shipping records. The ideal candidate will have experience in a warehouse environment and possess a solid understanding of shipping procedures. This role is vital to our supply chain operations, directly impacting customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and process shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing slips, and commercial invoices.
  • Verify the accuracy of outgoing orders against pick lists and customer orders.
  • Coordinate with shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, LTL carriers) to schedule pickups and track shipments.
  • Inspect outgoing packages for proper packaging, labeling, and damage.
  • Maintain accurate and organized shipping records, including manifests and tracking information.
  • Communicate effectively with internal departments, such as sales and inventory, to resolve any shipping discrepancies.
  • Operate shipping equipment, such as pallet jacks and tape machines, safely and efficiently.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use of PPE.
  • Assist with other warehouse duties as needed to support overall team objectives.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or a similar role preferred.
  • Proficiency in using shipping software and basic computer skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and the ability to follow instructions precisely.
  • Familiarity with material handling equipment is a plus.
