Join our expanding logistics team in Des Moines, Iowa, as an Order Picker. This role is critical to our fulfillment process, ensuring that customer orders are accurately and efficiently assembled for shipment. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, energetic, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse environment. You will be responsible for locating, picking, and packing various items from our inventory, using RF scanners and other tools to ensure accuracy. A strong commitment to safety and adherence to company procedures are paramount. This position involves significant physical activity, including frequent Lifting and movement throughout the shift. We provide a safe working environment and require all employees to use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as mandated. You will be trained on proper techniques for picking, packing, and safe material handling. Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick items from warehouse shelves based on order tickets.
- Use RF scanners to track picked items and update inventory.
- Pack items securely and appropriately for shipment.
- Stage picked and packed orders for consolidation and loading.
- Perform quality checks on picked items to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE.
- Meet established productivity standards for picking and packing.
- Assist with other warehouse tasks as needed.
- Handle inventory with care to prevent damage.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a warehouse, order picking, or similar role is advantageous.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent Lifting of up to 45 lbs and standing for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order fulfillment.
- Familiarity with RF scanners and warehouse management systems is a plus.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of basic warehouse safety practices.
- Commitment to wearing required PPE and following safety guidelines.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Understanding of logistics processes is beneficial.
