Job Summary:
Our bustling distribution center in Chicago, Illinois, is looking for an experienced Inventory Control Specialist to manage and maintain accurate inventory records. This role is critical for ensuring the efficiency of our logistics operations and minimizing discrepancies. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of inventory management systems. You will be responsible for conducting cycle counts, reconciling inventory differences, investigating stock discrepancies, and implementing procedures to prevent future errors. This position requires the ability to work independently and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement. You will also be involved in receiving and put-away processes, ensuring that all items are correctly documented and stored. While this role is primarily analytical, some physical activity is involved, including occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds. Maintaining a safe working environment is a top priority, and you will be expected to follow all safety guidelines and wear the necessary PPE . Experience with WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) software is essential. Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively are also key. You will work closely with warehouse associates and management to ensure smooth inventory flow. Responsibilities include performing regular physical inventory audits, managing stock rotation and expiration dates, processing inventory adjustments, training team members on inventory procedures, and reporting on inventory accuracy metrics.
