Are you skilled in maintaining and troubleshooting warehouse equipment? We're looking for a dedicated Warehouse Technician to join our team in Virginia Beach, Virginia. In this role, you will be responsible for the upkeep, repair, and maintenance of various warehouse machinery and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and minimizing downtime. Your expertise will be crucial in supporting our extensive logistics operations and maintaining a safe, efficient working environment. A strong understanding of mechanical systems and a commitment to safety are key requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on warehouse equipment, including forklifts, conveyor systems, and automated machinery.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on warehouse equipment.
- Ensure all equipment is operating safely and efficiently, adhering to manufacturer specifications and company standards.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities.
- Assist in the installation and setup of new equipment.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and protocols, including the mandatory use of PPE during maintenance tasks.
- Collaborate with warehouse management and operations teams to schedule maintenance and minimize disruption to logistics flow.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and implement solutions promptly.
- Maintain a clean and organized maintenance area.
- Stay updated on new technologies and best practices in warehouse equipment maintenance and logistics.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in mechanics or a related field is a strong advantage.
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician, preferably in a warehouse or industrial setting.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with various types of warehouse equipment and machinery.
- Knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems.
- Understanding of safety procedures and the importance of PPE in a maintenance context.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Must be able to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing, and working in various environmental conditions.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
