We are looking for an experienced Shipping & Receiving Associate to join our vibrant logistics team in Houston, Texas. In this critical role, you will manage the inbound and outbound flow of goods, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to all safety standards. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will be key to our operational success.
Responsibilities:
- Process incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders and invoices.
- Prepare outgoing shipments, including packaging, labeling, and documentation.
- Coordinate with carriers for shipment pickups and deliveries.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular cycle counts.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely.
- Ensure the shipping and receiving areas are kept clean, organized, and secure.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies, including the proper use of PPE.
- Inspect goods for damage and report any discrepancies immediately.
- Support other warehouse functions as needed to ensure smooth logistics operations.
- Engage in physical tasks, including substantial Lifting of materials.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college or vocational training is a plus.
- Proven experience in shipping and receiving, preferably in a logistics environment.
- Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic computer skills.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Physical ability to perform tasks requiring significant Lifting, standing, and walking.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to regulations.
