Our Phoenix, Arizona distribution center is looking for a dedicated Material Handler to join our operations. In this role, you will be responsible for the efficient movement and organization of materials throughout the warehouse. Your key duties will involve receiving and unloading shipments, operating forklifts and other machinery, and transporting goods to their designated storage areas. A strong focus on safety and accuracy is essential for this position, as you will play a vital role in our logistics chain. The ideal candidate will have experience with various material handling equipment and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment, including the proper use of PPE. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and verify incoming materials and shipments.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment safely and efficiently to move materials.
- Transport inventory to and from storage areas, production lines, and shipping docks.
- Stack and arrange materials neatly and securely.
- Assist with inventory counts and participate in cycle count activities.
- Perform routine checks on material handling equipment and report any maintenance needs.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, emphasizing the use of PPE.
- Identify and report any damaged goods, workplace hazards, or safety violations.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of obstructions.
- Support shipping and receiving activities to ensure timely processing of orders.
- Ensure materials are correctly labeled and tracked within the inventory system.
- Follow all guidelines related to warehouse management and logistics.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a warehouse environment is required.
- Forklift operator certification or proven experience operating forklifts.
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds.
- Thorough understanding of safety protocols in a warehouse setting, including proper PPE usage.
- Good spatial awareness and keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
- Strong work ethic and a commitment to punctuality.
- Basic knowledge of inventory control and logistics principles.
- Willingness to perform physically demanding tasks.
