Our Indianapolis, Indiana logistics center is looking for a skilled Material Handler to join our operational team. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for the efficient and safe movement of materials throughout the warehouse. Your duties will include receiving, storing, and dispatching goods, utilizing various equipment and ensuring inventory accuracy. The ideal candidate is reliable, possesses strong organizational skills, and has a keen eye for detail. A deep commitment to safety is essential, requiring strict adherence to all safety protocols and the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This position involves significant physical activity, including regular Lifting and the operation of material handling equipment. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming materials.
- Store materials in designated warehouse locations accurately.
- Pick, pack, and prepare materials for shipment.
- Operate material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts if certified) safely and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with cycle counts.
- Ensure the warehouse is kept clean, organized, and safe.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including proper PPE usage.
- Identify and report any damaged materials or safety hazards.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and meet operational goals.
- Assist in loading and unloading trucks as needed.
- Perform tasks involving regular Lifting and moving of materials.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is preferred.
- Ability to operate various types of material handling equipment.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Physical ability to perform tasks requiring frequent Lifting (up to 50 lbs) and standing for extended periods.
- Commitment to workplace safety and the proper use of PPE.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Experience with inventory management systems is a plus.
