We are seeking a reliable and organized Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team in Raleigh, North Carolina. This role is crucial for ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and safely. The Shipping Clerk will be responsible for preparing shipment documentation, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring that orders are dispatched on time. The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a good understanding of shipping procedures and logistics. You will work closely with warehouse staff to ensure smooth order flow from pick-up to delivery. Responsibilities include verifying order details, selecting appropriate shipping methods and carriers, generating shipping labels, and managing shipping records. We are committed to a safe work environment, and all employees must adhere to safety protocols, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process all outgoing shipment documentation.
- Verify order accuracy against shipping manifests.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers for pick-ups and deliveries.
- Generate shipping labels and customs documentation as required.
- Weigh and measure packages for shipping.
- Ensure packages are properly labeled and secured for transit.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and logs.
- Communicate with customers and internal departments regarding shipment status.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE.
- Assist with loading and unloading shipments when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a shipping, logistics, or warehouse role is preferred.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and carrier portals.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional Lifting of up to 30 lbs.
- Familiarity with different shipping methods and carrier requirements.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of warehouse operations and logistics flow.
- Commitment to safety protocols and PPE usage.
- Must be reliable and able to work independently.
