Our Jacksonville, Florida logistics hub is looking for a skilled Forklift Operator. This position is crucial for the efficient movement of goods within our warehouse. You will be responsible for operating forklifts and other powered equipment to load, unload, transport, and stack materials. The ideal candidate possesses excellent operational skills, a strong commitment to safety, and a thorough understanding of warehouse logistics. Accuracy and efficiency in material handling are key. You will ensure that all movements are conducted safely, adhering to strict company policies and government regulations. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. We emphasize a proactive approach to safety, and all employees are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times and follow all safety procedures. Regular safety training and updates will be provided. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers.
- Move and stack materials in designated warehouse locations.
- Perform routine inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance needs.
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures, including proper use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Support the shipping and receiving departments as needed.
- Ensure all goods are handled with care to prevent damage.
- Contribute to overall team productivity and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift certification and proven operational experience.
- At least 2 years of experience as a forklift operator in a logistics or warehouse setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of safe forklift operation and warehouse safety protocols.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including Lifting and moving items weighing up to 60 lbs.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and material flow.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and awareness of surroundings.
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members.
- Commitment to wearing required PPE and adhering to all safety regulations.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
