Our fast-paced logistics facility in Washington, D.C. is looking for a dedicated Receiving Clerk to manage the intake of all incoming shipments. The Receiving Clerk plays a critical role in our supply chain, ensuring that all goods are accurately documented, inspected for damage, and properly stored. You will be the first point of contact for deliveries, verifying quantities against purchase orders and resolving any discrepancies. This position requires keen attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to safety. Experience in a warehouse environment is preferred. Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from various carriers.
- Verify the accuracy of received goods against purchase orders and invoices.
- Inspect shipments for any damage or discrepancies and report issues immediately.
- Accurately document all incoming inventory in the warehouse management system.
- Stage received goods for proper put-away.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory counts and other warehouse tasks as needed.
Requirements:
- Ability to perform moderate lifting, up to 40 pounds.
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods.
- Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Commitment to workplace safety.
