We are seeking a skilled Warehouse Technician to maintain and improve our warehouse infrastructure and equipment in Detroit, Michigan. This role is vital for ensuring the smooth, efficient, and **safety**-compliant operation of our **logistics** facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of warehouse systems, maintenance procedures, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. A commitment to using **PPE** and adhering to all **safety** regulations is paramount.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on warehouse equipment, including forklifts, conveyor systems, and racking.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues within the warehouse.
- Conduct regular safety inspections of the facility and equipment, identifying potential hazards.
- Implement and monitor **safety** procedures and protocols to ensure a secure working environment.
- Operate specialized equipment for material handling and inventory management.
- Assist with the installation and setup of new equipment and systems.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant **safety** regulations and standards.
- Manage inventory of spare parts and supplies for maintenance operations.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency situations.
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in mechanics or electronics preferred.
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician or in a similar role, preferably in a warehouse or **logistics** setting.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Experience with **PPE** and a thorough understanding of **safety** procedures.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring physical exertion, including **Lifting** up to 60 lbs.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Good communication skills.
