Our growing logistics center in Boise, Idaho is looking for a skilled Material Handler to manage the movement of goods within our warehouse. This role is essential for maintaining operational efficiency and ensuring that materials are available when and where they are needed. The Material Handler will be responsible for loading and unloading trucks, transporting materials to and from storage areas, and ensuring proper inventory management. This position requires physical stamina and a keen eye for detail. We value safety above all else and provide the necessary training and PPE.
Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, and containers.
- Transport materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
- Stock materials in designated storage areas, ensuring proper placement and organization.
- Pick materials for production or shipment as required.
- Conduct regular inspections of material handling equipment and report any issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols.
- Assist with inventory control and cycle counts.
- Ensure all lifting and moving of materials is done safely and efficiently.
- Comply with all company policies and safety regulations, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Support the overall logistics and supply chain operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar role.
- Experience operating various types of material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, reach trucks).
- Ability to perform lifting of heavy items, up to 50 lbs, frequently.
- Good understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and the correct use of PPE.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
