Join our logistics team as a Material Handler in Indianapolis, Indiana. This role is fundamental to our warehouse operations, ensuring that materials are moved, organized, and prepared for distribution efficiently and safely. You will be responsible for handling a wide range of materials, operating various equipment, and contributing to the overall productivity of the facility. Your diligence and attention to detail are crucial for success in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Move, lift, and arrange materials within the warehouse using appropriate equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks.
- Load and unload trucks, containers, and railcars.
- Receive, identify, and store incoming materials accurately.
- Prepare materials for shipment, ensuring they are correctly staged and organized.
- Perform regular equipment checks and maintain a clean work area.
- Adhere to all Safety protocols and company policies, including the use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory counts and maintain accurate records.
- Must be able to perform consistent Lifting of materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Support the logistics team in achieving operational goals.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is beneficial.
- Familiarity with warehouse equipment and material handling procedures.
- Understanding of basic logistics and supply chain principles.
- Strong commitment to workplace Safety and proper handling techniques.
- Physical ability to perform tasks involving standing, walking, bending, and Lifting.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
