Our Milwaukee, Wisconsin facility is seeking a diligent and experienced Material Handler to manage the flow of goods. As a Material Handler, you will be instrumental in ensuring efficient movement of materials within the warehouse. Your responsibilities will include loading and unloading delivery vehicles, transporting goods using forklifts and other equipment, and organizing inventory in designated areas. This role is vital for our logistics operations, requiring precision, physical capability, and a strong commitment to safety. You will work alongside a dedicated team to maintain optimal inventory levels and support timely order fulfillment. The ideal candidate possesses proven experience operating material handling equipment and a thorough understanding of warehouse safety protocols, including the correct use of PPE. Responsibilities:
- Safely load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment proficiently.
- Transport raw materials, finished goods, and equipment throughout the facility.
- Organize and store inventory in designated locations, ensuring efficient space utilization.
- Assist with cycle counts and inventory verification processes.
- Conduct daily inspections of material handling equipment and report any maintenance needs.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and guidelines, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Identify and report any damaged goods, hazardous conditions, or safety concerns.
- Maintain a clean and orderly workspace and warehouse environment.
- Support shipping and receiving teams as needed to ensure operational flow.
- Ensure materials are properly labeled and tracked within the logistics system.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Certification to operate forklifts is required; if not certified, must be willing to obtain certification.
- Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 70 pounds.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse safety practices and the importance of PPE.
- Good mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic equipment checks.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems is a plus.
- Experience in a fast-paced logistics environment is advantageous.
