Join our dynamic warehouse team in Washington, D.C. as a Material Handler! We are seeking skilled and safety-conscious individuals to manage the movement and organization of materials within our facility. As a Material Handler, you will play a key role in our logistics operations, ensuring that inventory is processed, stored, and distributed efficiently and accurately. Your responsibilities will include operating forklifts and other material-handling equipment, loading and unloading shipments, and maintaining organized stock levels. A strong understanding of warehouse Safety protocols and the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) are essential to this role. You will conduct regular equipment inspections and adhere to all company policies to ensure a safe working environment. This position requires physical capability for significant Lifting and maneuvering of heavy items, as well as precision in operating machinery. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and effectively.
- Load and unload materials from delivery trucks and into storage areas.
- Transport materials between different areas of the warehouse.
- Organize and maintain inventory on shelves and in designated locations.
- Perform daily checks on material handling equipment and report any issues.
- Strictly follow all company Safety guidelines and wear all required PPE.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, including cycle counts.
- Support the overall smooth functioning of our logistics operations.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Certification or demonstrated proficiency in operating forklifts and related equipment.
- Ability to perform significant Lifting (up to 75 lbs) and other physical labor.
- Comprehensive knowledge of warehouse Safety best practices.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems is a plus.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and possess a strong work ethic.
- Commitment to wearing appropriate PPE.
