Are you an experienced Forklift Operator looking for a new opportunity in Des Moines, Iowa? Our logistics company is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious individual to operate forklifts and other machinery to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. This role is integral to the smooth operation of our warehouse, ensuring materials are handled efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of safe forklift operation, excellent spatial awareness, and a strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures. Responsibilities include loading and unloading trucks, moving inventory within the warehouse, and assisting with inventory management. You must be proficient in using various types of forklifts and adhere to all safety regulations, including the proper use of PPE. This position involves regular lifting and requires physical stamina. Responsibilities:
  • Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, electric) safely and efficiently to move materials.
  • Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers.
  • Transport goods from receiving areas to storage locations and from storage to shipping docks.
  • Stack and arrange inventory in designated areas, ensuring stability and safety.
  • Perform routine inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance issues.
  • Assist with inventory counts and record keeping.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
  • Follow established logistics and material handling protocols.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Practice safe lifting techniques when handling items manually.
  • Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure smooth workflow.
