Our Washington, D.C. location is seeking a diligent Material Handler to join our essential logistics team. This role is fundamental to the efficient operation of our distribution center, involving the handling, movement, and organization of goods. You will be instrumental in receiving, storing, and preparing materials for outbound shipments. The ideal candidate is proactive, physically capable, and dedicated to upholding rigorous Safety standards. This is a hands-on position where your efforts directly impact our operational success and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, identify, and store incoming materials and finished goods.
- Operate material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks) to move items within the warehouse.
- Pick items from storage locations for order fulfillment.
- Pack orders securely for shipment, ensuring accuracy and protection of goods.
- Conduct regular inspections of inventory and report any damages or discrepancies.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the warehouse floor and storage areas.
- Comply with all company Safety policies and procedures, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist in shipping and receiving processes as directed.
- Support overall logistics efficiency through diligent task completion.
Qualifications:
- Experience in a warehouse, distribution, or material handling role preferred.
- Physical ability to perform consistent Lifting and carrying of items up to 50 pounds.
- Understanding of warehouse operations and basic logistics concepts.
- Commitment to maintaining a high standard of Safety in the workplace.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
