We are seeking enthusiastic Picker/Packers to join our fast-paced warehouse operations in Indianapolis, Indiana. This role is fundamental to our logistics chain, ensuring that customer orders are accurately assembled and prepared for shipment. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. As a Picker/Packer, you will be responsible for accurately retrieving items from warehouse shelves based on order specifications and then carefully packing them for transit. This position requires the ability to work efficiently, handle products with care, and follow all safety guidelines, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Your contribution is vital to our success in the logistics industry.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately identify and pick items from warehouse shelves according to pick lists or scanning devices.
- Verify product details and quantities to ensure order accuracy.
- Package picked items securely and efficiently, selecting appropriate shipping materials.
- Label outgoing packages correctly for shipment.
- Conduct quality checks on products before packing.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring easy access to supplies.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including proper lifting techniques and the use of PPE.
- Operate basic material handling equipment such as hand trucks and pallet jacks.
- Report any discrepancies, damages, or safety concerns to a supervisor promptly.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned to support overall logistics operations.
Qualifications:
Prior experience in picking and packing or a similar warehouse role is beneficial. Must be able to stand for long periods and perform repetitive physical tasks. Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 40 pounds regularly. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy. Basic reading and comprehension skills required for interpreting orders. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Enthusiasm for working in a dynamic logistics environment. Must be able to follow instructions precisely and adhere to all safety protocols, including wearing required PPE. Punctuality and reliability are essential for this role.
