Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for an Electrical Estimator based in Woodbridge, ON. The Electrical Estimator will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for electrical projects, analyzing project specifications and requirements, and collaborating with project managers and engineers. The role involves evaluating material costs, labor, and timelines to ensure competitive and accurate proposals. This role requires strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of the construction process, and the ability to negotiate effectively with vendors and subcontractors.

Duties

• Review and understand job specifications and drawings and follow through with estimating process to develop competitive bids.
• Conduct site/tender walk-through to cross reference drawings to avoid site interferences and identify proactive solutions.
• Produce material and labour take-off through estimating software to develop accurate quotations.
• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
• Collaborate with project managers to develop project budgets and timelines.
• Build relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to gather pricing information and negotiate contracts.
• Monitor project costs throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
• Maintain organized records of all estimates, bids, and contracts for future reference.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Electrical Estimating and experience in Cost Control practices
• Proven experience in construction estimating
• Proficiency with Accubid, Livecount and Excel
• Knowledge and experience in Electrical Contracting, Electricity, and electrical system installations
• Understanding of Electrical Engineering concepts and their application in project estimation
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent industry experience
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively coordinate with different stakeholders
