Working under our landscape construction superintendent and foreman your requirements and responsibilities will include:
Requirements:
* Must have a minimum of 3 years experience operating shovel.
* Experience with John Deere 245 with RotoTilt is an asset.
* Ability to excavate on grade.
* Placement of granular and soil on grade.
* Team player.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Punctual and reliable.
* Must be able to work with deadlines while maintaining good attention to detail.
* Experience with Topcon GPS equipment is an asset.
* Must have own transportation.
Responsibilities:
* Ensure all work is completed to Canadian Landscape Standards.
* Responsible for assisting the foreman in the daily completion of quality activities and tasks.
* Conduct daily pre-use inspections electronically for all equipment checks prior to using the equipment through mobile device.
* Ability to read and understand Utility Locates.
* Perform basic maintenance on equipment and machinery, including greasing and fluid levels.
* Maintain a safe and clean work environment, including keeping the machine and cab clean.
* Work in a way that will not endanger yourself or others.
* Understand the hazards associated with tasks and controls in place.
* Participate in Pre-job Safety Assessment (PSA) daily, and weekly toolbox safety talk.
* Use equipment, protective devices, PPE, and clothing based on legislation, and Davis Landscaping safe work practices and safe job procedures.
* Report all incidents, defects, unsafe conditions, and unidentified hazard to your supervisor.
* Do not remove or interfere with any safeguards.
* WHMIS, 4 Step Health & Safety Awareness, Workplace Violence & Harassment for Workers, and AODA.
* Adhere to all OHSA regulations, M. Davis Landscape & Design Inc. Health and Safety policies and procedures, and comply with site specific rules.
This is a full-time position. Remuneration is based on qualifications and experience.
