POSITION DESCRIPTION:

One of our charming seniors' residences is currently seeking a cook to fill a permanent, full-time position, 40 hours per week, daytime hours from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and one weekend out of two.

ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• All other related tasks

Food Services

• Assemble plates of food
• Ensure and optimize quality standards in the use of food
• Ensure the kitchen and equipment are kept clean according to established hygiene and cleanliness standards
• Manning the warm table, help residences with their choices
• Peel and cut vegetables for meals
• Plan and cook meals in accordance with the appropriate methods and standards
• Supervise the preparation of cold meals and desserts
• Use products and equipment according to the safety, quality, hygiene and cleanliness rules and standards in effect
• Use work methods consistent with the health and safety rules and cleanliness standards in effect
• When appropriate, collaborate with the chef in the creation of the menus by proposing ideas

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• A proffesional studies dimploma (DEP) in institutional cuisine or equivelent
• MAPAQ permit
• Minimum 2 years similar experience is required
• Knowledge of retirement homes, a major asset
• Good team player
