At Indie Learning Co., our mission is to provide exceptional naturalistic therapy and educational services to children aged 16 months to 12 years, while embracing neurodiversity as a core value of our practice.
We prioritize practices that respect each child's unique developmental journey, strengths, and challenges. Our person-centered approach emphasizes the child’s abilities while supporting their growth in a safe and nurturing environment.
Our services include direct (1:1) speech, behavioral, occupational, and physical therapy, along with a developmental enrichment program focused on academic and whole-child development.
*Position Overview:*
We are seeking a passionate and compassionate *Speech LanguageTherapist* to join our multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children from diverse developmental backgrounds and align with Indie's neurodiversity-affirming practices. The Physical Therapist will work directly with children in-center, supporting gross motor development, mobility, and physical strength through engaging and play-based methods.
*Key Responsibilities:*
*Play-Based, Child-Led Assessment and Support*
* Utilize a child-centered approach, tailoring assessments and learning plan to each child's unique strengths and needs.
* Implement play-based goals, supports and strategies that engage children in naturalistic settings, fostering development through relevant and developmentally appropriate activities.
* Cultivate a supportive environment that encourages speech and language skill development through play, building a foundation for lifelong speech and language skills.
*Interdisciplinary Collaboration:*
* Work closely with teachers, Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and all relevant team members to develop integrated strategies aligning with the overall developmental goals of each learner.
* Participate in regular team meetings, contributing expertise to the collaborative development of individualized learning plans.
* Work collaboratively with members of the interdisciplinary team to establish and maintain a nurturing learning environment that promotes the development of skills and active engagement for every learner.
*Professional Development and Neurodiversity Affirming Practices:*
* Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay informed about the latest research, methodologies, and neurodiversity-affirming practices in the field of speech-language pathology.
* Advocate for and implement inclusive practices that celebrate neurodiversity, disability and culture, recognizing and respecting the unique strengths and areas of growth for each child.
* Foster an environment that reflects an understanding of diverse learning styles and communication modalities.
*Collaboration with Parents/Caregivers:*
* Work closely with parents/caregivers to gather valuable insights into each child's communication strengths and areas of support.
* Provide education and support to parents/caregivers, empowering them to actively contribute to their child's language development journey.
* Establish open lines of communication, ensuring a collaborative partnership between families and the developmental team

*Qualifications*
* Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent
* Valid state licensure and certification in Speech-Language Pathology
* AZ fingerprint Clearance Card
* Familiarity with early intervention strategies and pediatric care
* Previous experience in a school setting is a plus
* Familiarity with Gestalt Language Processing is preffered
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
