My client are seeking a highly motivated Linux System Administrator to join their Managed Services team working in the Infrastructure department. In this role, you will work exclusively on supporting, maintaining, and enhancing technology solutions for their clients. You will play a key part in ensuring the reliability, performance, and successful operation of technology platforms, while collaborating closely with experienced Linux engineers and client technical teams. This position offers significant opportunities to develop new skills, deepen your expertise in enterprise-grade Linux environments, and contribute directly to the success of Technology deployments. Responsibilities and Duties - Linux Systems Administrator(Red Hat, Exchange, Trading, FinTech, Financial Technology, financial Services) Contribute to the Managed Service team, working alongside experienced Linux System Administrators to deploy, operate, and support Exchange Technology platforms. Support Exchange Technology clients throughout the full implementation lifecycle, including: Reviewing and contributing to initial technical specifications and RFP responses. Delivering installation, configuration, knowledge transfer, and on site support activities. Integrating solutions with clients existing infrastructure by collaborating closely with client infrastructure teams, as well as internal project and development teams. Triage and diagnose client-reported issues, analysing logs, system behaviour, and configuration states to identify root causes and provide timely, accurate resolutions. Build, maintain and use internal test environments for pre-client testing, performance testing or proof of concept installation prior to client deliverables. Work within Jira sprints to resolve client-related bugs in delivered Linux components, ensuring timely analysis, fixes, and delivery of reliable Linux solutions. Create, update, and maintain clear, comprehensive technical documentation. Perform occasional out of hours work, including ad hoc data centre visits, to support critical operational needs. International travel as required to deliver onsite solution deployment, technical workshops and delivery assurance activities. Required Skills/Experience 8+ years of system administration experience in modern Red Hatbased environments (RHEL, CentOS, Rocky Linux), supporting production-grade systems. Strong proficiency in Bash scripting, with the ability to design, optimise, and debug complex automation and operational tooling. Extensive hands-on experience engineering, deploying and operating RHEL-based platforms, including provisioning, patching, package management, security hardening, and bare metal deployments. Strong experience with build and CI/CD tooling, with particular emphasis on Git-based version control and workflow management. Experience supporting low-latency systems and/or working within financial services environments is highly desirable. Hands-on experience packaging and maintaining software within an RPM-based ecosystem. Strong expertise in automated system provisioning and configuration management using PXE, Kickstart, Ansible, DNS, and Red Hat Satellite (highly desirable). Solid knowledge of RHEL networking via NetworkManager, including VLANs, routing, load balancing, and multicast (desirable). Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multiple technical teams across different organisations. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and sound judgement in both reactive problem solving and proactive risk identification.
