Position Summary The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for driving business growth through proactive prospecting, relationship development, and in-person customer engagement across a designated Chicagoland territory.
This role focuses on new customer acquisition, long-term client partnerships, and maintaining a polished, trustworthy brand presence within the architectural roofing and custom metal industry.
Integrity, self-motivation, and strong face-to-face presentation skills are essential for success.

New hires receive structured, hands-on training that includes: In-depth product and service education covering slate, tile, cedar, metal roofing systems, and custom architectural metal fabrication On-site job walk-throughs alongside senior project managers and top-performing field crews to understand real-world installations and technical details Estimating and proposal guidance to build confidence in pricing and scope development Ongoing mentorship from leadership and access to technical experts for complex projects Continuous learning opportunities as new products, materials, and systems are introduced Key Responsibilities Sales & Business Development Acquire new accounts through prospecting, cold calling, networking, and in-person visits Develop and execute aggressive sales strategies to grow territory revenue Identify opportunities, generate leads, follow up consistently, and convert prospects into clients Build and maintain a strong referral network Generate, qualify, and develop new customer accounts Manage call schedules efficiently to fully cover assigned territory Client & Project Engagement Meet with homeowners and clients to perform inspections, assess conditions, and identify storm damage when applicable Measure roofs, take photos, and submit accurate documentation to CRM for estimation process Oversee projects from contract award through completion, including supplements when applicable Maintain clear communication with customers, production teams, and internal staff CRM, Reporting & Administration Create, update, and maintain all customer and opportunity data in JobNimbus daily Maintain accurate records of sales activity, communications, reimbursements, and documentation Submit reports on time and in accordance with company requirements Market & Industry Engagement Monitor and report on market conditions, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities Stay informed on new products, materials, and industry trends Represent the company at Lunch & Learns, webinars, trade shows, and professional exhibitions Goals & Performance Tracking Establish account targets and strategies to convert non-supporting customers into active clients Prepare and execute sales action plans Maximize revenue and profit margins Maintain organized, xkddfxh accurate, and timely CRM records and reports Communication & Customer Service Maintain consistent communication with clients and internal teams Provide high-level customer service and relationship management Resolve customer concerns by investigating issues, developing solutions, and reporting to management Conduct all interactions with professionalism, integrity, and respect **Deduction of percentage if there is a lack of ** Work Conditions Frequent travel required (up to 100% of work time), often involving several hours of driving per day Schedule: Monday–Friday Nights and weekends may be required based on builder/homeowner availability Ability to carry and climb ladders required Sales Support Provided Administrative and estimating support (After 1st draft estimate sent to estimation department for review) Invoicing assistance Material ordering and production scheduling Contract draws for SARC Inc.
