Lead Front-End Developer (Ecommerce) - React / Typescript 📍 London / Hybrid or Remote (UK) 💰 £80,000 – £100,000 + Benefits Mploy Group is partnering with a well-established ecommerce business to recruit a Lead Front-End Developer to help shape the next phase of their digital platform. This is an opportunity to join a growing technology team within a 400-person business, where digital plays a central role in both online and in-store customer experience. You’ll take ownership of the front-end architecture and direction, leading the development of high-quality ecommerce experiences while working closely with product, UX, and engineering teams. This role goes beyond hands-on development — we’re looking for someone who can blend technical leadership with commercial awareness, helping align technology decisions with business outcomes. The Role As Lead Front-End Developer, you will play a key role in shaping how the business delivers digital products to customers. You’ll lead front-end development standards, mentor developers, and work closely with stakeholders to ensure the platform continues to evolve and scale. You’ll be joining a collaborative development team of around 11 engineers, working within a modern cloud-based environment. Technology Environment * React * TypeScript * CSS / modern styling frameworks * C# / .NET backend (knowledge beneficial) * Azure cloud environment * Modern ecommerce architecture Key Responsibilities * Lead the front-end development strategy for the ecommerce platform * Build and maintain scalable, high-performance front-end applications * Collaborate with product, UX and backend teams to deliver new features * Mentor and support developers within the engineering team * Ensure best practice across performance, accessibility and maintainability * Contribute to technical decision-making and platform direction * Balance technical excellence with commercial and customer outcomes What We’re Looking For * Strong experience building modern React / TypeScript applications * Background working within ecommerce or digital retail environments * Solid understanding of front-end architecture and performance * Experience leading projects or mentoring developers * Comfortable working with backend teams in C# / .NET environments * Familiarity with Azure cloud platforms * Strong communication skills and the ability to translate technical concepts to the wider business Please apply to find out more at your earliest convenience
