What You’ll Be Doing:As a key player in our team, you will:
- Drive the delivery of the test and commissioning plan.
- Support a talented team of nuclear mechanical commissioning engineers.
- Collaborate with the Reactor Test Group (RTG) , authorizing a suite of test documentation.
- Act as an Authorised Person in the permit to work process.
- Review engineering outputs and documents to ensure quality.
- Embed learning from experience (LFE) into our processes.
Essential:
- Degree/HNC/HND in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
- Understanding of Nuclear Systems and their testing and commissioning.
- Knowledge of overall submarine systems and their operation.
- Experience in supporting and coaching a diverse team in complex environments.
- Proficiency with IT systems and software (especially Microsoft products).
- Experience in planning test and commissioning programmes.
Desirable:
- Excellent mentorship and development skills.
- Cat B Nuclear Operator or relevant nuclear industry experience (ideally from a nuclear steam raising plant).
- Experience on nuclear licensed or COMAH sites.
- Experience in embedding Learning from Experience (LFE).

In your role as Commissioning Project Lead – Mechanical, you will:
- Plan and manage a test section and all associated activities.
- Deliver as part of a wider test & commissioning programme, involving major engineering systems.
- Contribute to embedding LFE and supporting the delivery process.
- Lead a diverse group of Commissioning Engineers, sharing your technical expertise on a unique national project.
