Our solutions fall into two broad categories: control products and components. Summary The mission of the Quality Engineer is to provide leadership to project and/or production teams to ensure delivery of quality products. In this capacity, the QE will be a member of a cross-functional team that includes the Manufacturing Engineer, Production Manager, Design Engineer and Team Leads in the continuous improvement of the Fabrication Dept. Position Duties Essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to: Work in a close, collaborative fashion with Manufacturing Engineering, Design Engineering and Production management in the pursuit of common metric-based goals Continuously audit department processes and procedures to ensure quality requirements are met or exceeded Lead Material Review Board (MRB) activities for disposition of non-conforming products Lead cross-functional teams in conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective Action (CA) efforts Successfully lead improvement projects assigned using lean principles, six sigma methodology or other improvement tools Establish and maintain process controls to reduce costs related to scrap and rework and improve first time yield Develop inspection work instructions and quality control plans throughout manufacturing process and final lot acceptance Lead product or process FMEAs during product and process development as needed Implement and/or improve Statistical Process Control (SPC) methodologies to the appropriate level in support of continuous improvement efforts Create or revise quality procedures to standardize work processes and to meet regulatory, AS9100, and customer requirements Develop, implement, and maintain appropriate driver metrics in support of Organization metrics Develop and deliver public presentations as appropriate for all levels within the organization Foster and promote passion in advancing Lean, continuous improvement, and quality concepts Perform Design of Experiment (DOE) for Root Cause Corrective Action and process optimization. Qualifications BS degree in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering with hands-on Quality manufacturing experience preferably in the aerospace industry; Master's degree (Mechanical/ Manufacturing/ Aerospace Engineering) preferred Working knowledge of blueprint interpretation and GD stamina to sit and to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds; may require minimal walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat.
