Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Design Engineer at AKARD COMMUTATOR of TENNESSEE, located in Alcoa, TN. In this role, the Design Engineer will work on creating, developing, and refining designs for commutators and slip rings. Day-to-day responsibilities include using computer-aided design (CAD) software, conducting mechanical and electrical analyses, and collaborating with manufacturing teams to ensure high-quality product development. The role also involves adhering to industry regulations and innovative practices to continuously improve products and streamline production processes. Qualifications Expertise in Design Engineering and Product Design for high-performance mechanical and electrical components Strong background in Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering, including understanding of industry-specific applications Proficiency in using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software for creating detailed and precise design models Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to develop innovative engineering solutions Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline Experience in the manufacturing sector and familiarity with industry-specific standards are beneficial
