In this vital role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout the facility. This includes receiving, storing, and shipping goods, ensuring accurate inventory management, and maintaining a clean and orderly workspace. Your primary focus will be on operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to transport goods to their designated locations. We emphasize a strong commitment to safety, and all employees are required to use appropriate PPE and follow strict safety protocols. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, excellent organizational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving within the logistics environment. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring accurate checking of goods against shipping documents.
- Store materials in designated warehouse locations, maintaining inventory accuracy.
- Pick and stage orders for shipment, ensuring all items are accounted for.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and report any issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory control and cycle counts.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve departmental goals in logistics.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Proven experience operating forklifts and other relevant machinery.
- Valid forklift certification is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting, up to 70 pounds.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and experience with PPE.
- Excellent spatial awareness and attention to detail.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is beneficial.
