Our distribution center in Omaha, Nebraska, is seeking an efficient and accurate Shipping Clerk. This role is critical to our outbound logistics, ensuring that all customer orders are accurately documented, packed, and dispatched. You will be responsible for generating shipping labels, coordinating with transport services, and maintaining meticulous records. Responsibilities:
- Process all outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy in documentation and labeling.
- Generate shipping labels and prepare necessary paperwork for carriers.
- Schedule and coordinate pickups with various shipping carriers.
- Verify the contents of outgoing orders against packing slips.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date shipping logs and records.
- Communicate with internal teams to resolve any shipping discrepancies.
- Ensure packages are properly secured and labeled for transit.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory checks and stockroom organization as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the logistics team.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a shipping or logistics role strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with computers, including shipping software and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally.
- Commitment to following safety protocols and wearing required PPE.
