We are hiring a Material Handler for our Durham, North Carolina facility. This position is key to maintaining the efficient movement of materials throughout our warehouse, supporting our production and logistics operations. The ideal candidate will be physically capable, detail-oriented, and committed to workplace safety. You will be responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing materials within the facility, ensuring a smooth flow of goods and maintaining accurate inventory records.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming materials and shipments.
- Transport materials to and from designated storage areas using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment.
- Accurately document the movement and location of materials.
- Organize and maintain warehouse inventory, ensuring proper storage and rotation.
- Pick materials for production orders or customer shipments.
- Load materials onto trucks or other vehicles for outbound shipment.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
- Ensure all warehouse areas are clean, organized, and safe, adhering to strict safety protocols.
- Operate all equipment safely and correctly, utilizing required PPE at all times.
- Assist with other logistics and warehouse tasks as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Certification and experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment is essential.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 60 lbs regularly.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and protocols.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and record-keeping skills.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and proper use of PPE.
- Familiarity with inventory control principles is a plus.
