Join our bustling logistics hub in Washington, D.C. as an Order Picker! You will play a vital role in ensuring our customers receive their orders accurately and on time. This position requires keen attention to detail, efficiency, and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment. The Order Picker is responsible for accurately selecting items from warehouse shelves based on customer orders, preparing them for shipment, and maintaining organization within the picking zones. This is a fast-paced role within the critical field of supply chain management.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick items from warehouse shelves according to order lists or handheld scanners.
- Verify product codes and quantities to ensure order accuracy.
- Package picked items securely for shipment, applying appropriate labels.
- Operate pallet jacks and other lifting devices to move products.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring aisles are clear and products are properly stored.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, including the use of required PPE.
- Report any discrepancies, damaged items, or safety concerns to supervisors immediately.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, such as cycle counting.
- Achieve daily picking targets while maintaining high quality standards.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth warehouse operations.
Qualifications:
We are looking for individuals with excellent stamina and the ability to work efficiently in a standing and walking environment. Prior experience as an order picker or in a similar warehouse role is preferred. The ability to perform manual tasks, including frequent lifting of up to 45 lbs, is essential. A strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all guidelines regarding PPE is mandatory. Basic understanding of logistics and inventory systems is a plus. Must be reliable and punctual.
