We are looking for a reliable Material Handler to join our state-of-the-art warehouse in Richmond, Virginia. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for the efficient movement of materials throughout the warehouse. This includes operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to load, unload, transport, and store goods. Your role is critical to maintaining optimal inventory levels and ensuring a smooth workflow within our logistics operations. We are committed to a safe work environment and require all employees to adhere to strict safety protocols and utilize required PPE. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Store materials in appropriate locations, ensuring proper stacking and organization.
- Assist with inventory counts and ensure accurate material tracking.
- Maintain warehouse equipment and report any maintenance needs.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including proper handling techniques and the use of PPE.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized warehouse environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification or previous experience operating forklifts.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Strong understanding of warehouse logistics and material flow.
- Commitment to safety procedures and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems is a plus.
