Join our team as a Shipping Clerk at our Grand Rapids, Michigan location and play a key role in our logistics operations. We are looking for a detail-oriented individual to manage the efficient and accurate processing of all outbound shipments. As a Shipping Clerk, you will be responsible for preparing orders for dispatch, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining accurate shipping records. Your diligence ensures our products reach our customers on time and in perfect condition. You will collaborate with warehouse staff to streamline the shipping process and uphold our commitment to quality and safety. A keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and proficiency with shipping software are vital. You must be diligent in following all safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Occasional lifting may be part of the responsibilities. Essential duties include:
- Reviewing and verifying outgoing orders for accuracy.
- Generating and affixing shipping labels.
- Preparing bills of lading and other shipping documentation.
- Coordinating pick-up schedules with freight carriers.
- Tracking outgoing shipments and managing delivery exceptions.
- Communicating shipment details to relevant parties.
- Ensuring packages are correctly packaged and sealed for safe transit.
- Operating shipping office equipment and software.
- Assisting in the resolution of shipping discrepancies or issues.
- Maintaining a tidy and orderly shipping department.
