Our busy distribution center in Jacksonville, Florida, has an opening for an Inventory Control Specialist. This role is critical for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory, which is essential for efficient logistics operations. You will be responsible for conducting regular inventory counts, investigating discrepancies, managing stock levels, and implementing procedures to minimize errors and stockouts. The ideal candidate will be analytical, detail-oriented, and possess strong organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
- Perform cycle counts and full physical inventories.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
- Implement and enforce inventory control procedures and best practices.
- Monitor stock levels and ensure optimal inventory levels are maintained.
- Track and manage returns and damaged goods.
- Collaborate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and the proper use of PPE.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized warehouse environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in inventory control or a similar role within a logistics or warehouse environment.
- Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional lifting up to 40 pounds.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety protocols, including wearing appropriate PPE.
