We are seeking an organized and efficient Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This role is vital for ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately, safely, and on time. You will be responsible for preparing shipments, coordinating with carriers, maintaining shipping records, and ensuring that all outbound goods meet quality and documentation standards. This position offers a great entry point into the logistics and supply chain field.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare products for shipment, including boxing, labeling, and palletizing.
- Verify shipment contents against orders and shipping manifests.
- Operate shipping software to create shipping labels and track packages.
- Coordinate with freight carriers for pickup schedules and requirements.
- Load outgoing shipments onto trucks.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and company policies.
- Maintain a clean and orderly shipping area.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Communicate effectively with warehouse staff, carriers, and other departments.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and basic computer proficiency. Previous experience in a shipping, receiving, or general warehouse role is preferred. Must be able to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive tasks, and handle frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs. A commitment to workplace safety and the correct use of PPE is essential. Familiarity with various shipping carriers and logistics processes is a plus. Good communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.
