Our client is seeking immediate assistance in identifying a candidate for a Design Engineer direct hire position in Indianapolis, IN.
Responsibilities:
Develop and document manufacturing-ready engineering designs, ensuring deadlines for development and drawings are met. Contribute to all stages of the design-build process, supporting multiple projects from concept to installation. Assist with material procurement when required. Oversee fabrication of engineered components, ensuring accuracy and functionality; serve as the primary liaison to Manufacturing Operations and recommend solutions as needed. Provide engineering updates and project progress reports to senior leadership. Support the implementation and maintenance of quality control systems. Contribute to project time and cost estimation, as well as ongoing tracking of resources and expenses. Engage with suppliers and vendors to stay informed on new technologies and integrate them into equipment designs. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager. Required Skills & Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, MET, or related Engineering field Experience utilizing SolidWorks Experience designing small to large fabricated sheet metal projects Previous experience at a custom machine builder 3+ years of relevant experience in mechanical design, machine building, or design/build projects
TERMS:
This is a direct hire position that pays from $90,000 - $130,000/yr depending upon experience.
