We are seeking a diligent and energetic Material Handler to join our dynamic logistics team in Des Moines, Iowa. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks including receiving, moving, staging, and shipping materials. This role is crucial to the efficient operation of our warehouse, ensuring that products are handled with care and accuracy from entry to exit. You will work closely with other warehouse staff to maintain an organized and productive environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow within the logistics industry, with potential for advancement for motivated individuals.
Responsibilities:
- Loading and unloading trucks and containers.
- Operating material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts (if certified).
- Moving materials from receiving areas to storage or production areas.
- Verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against required documentation.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Adhering to all safety regulations and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assisting with inventory counts and stocktaking.
- Performing general warehouse duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting up to 50 pounds consistently.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with warehouse safety procedures.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods.
- Team player with a strong work ethic.
- Reliable and punctual.
